Storm damage forces lake reline.
A limb from a large, mature, tree came down in a storm, landing in our clients’ insured lake, puncturing the liner in several places. We were engaged by their insurance company to come and repair the damage.
Unfortunately, the existing butyl liner was nearly 25 years old and was at the end of its life. Being butyl, there isn’t a repair system which can be guaranteed to seal it either. So, a new pond liner was the only option, which was agreed.
We drained the lake, saving and storing the koi in our large tanks on-site.
A large suction tanker removed the years of built-up slurry from the lake depths, pumping it out onto a neighbouring field as a good quality fertiliser for later use once dried.
With a final scrape around by machine, we were then able to reline the lake with our repairable epdm PondGard liner.
After we relined, the insurance company further contracted the renewal of the lawn into the pictures you see below now.
