During this period, the water may appear cloudy, algae growth can increase, and water quality may fluctuate while the biological filtration matures. This is all part of the natural process and doesn’t usually indicate a problem.
We recommend avoiding major changes during this settling-in period and allowing the pond to establish naturally. Once the beneficial bacteria are fully established, the pond will become much more stable, resulting in clearer water and a healthier environment for plants and wildlife.
