Liner Services: Service & Maintenance
Liner Inspection & Maintenance Service
Why not engage Turtle Productions to regularly inspect your liner. Where it’s integrity is key to your business, regular maintenance and on-the-spot repair service helps to keep your vital support operational.
Liner inspections
Liner inspections typically happen visually while the liner remains in the lake. Here are some reasons why a liner inspection might be recommended:
- Regular Maintenance: Liner manufacturers typically recommend inspections every 3-5 years to identify any tears, punctures, UV damage, or signs of wear and tear.
- Leak Detection: If you suspect a leak in your pond or lake, a liner inspection can help pinpoint the location of the problem.
- Winter Damage: If you live in an area with harsh winters, the freeze-thaw cycle can take a toll on your liner. An inspection before the next season can identify any potential issues.
- Selling Your Property: Some potential buyers may request a liner inspection as part of the home inspection process.
Once an inspection has taken place, we’ll report back with recommendations, costs and a proposal to resolve your problem.
As with our Consultancy Service, our Our fixed-price Inspection & Repair service starts from £1,000 + V.A.T. per day and this covers our labour for that day, all travel and any associated overnight costs. We offer a nationwide availability so our rate may reflect additional travel (distance & time). Should there become a need to reline following our report, and you engage our services to reline, we will refund this charge on final invoicing.
We always carry spares and repairs in our fleet, so subject to what we find and your ability to make decisions, we can possibly repair in the same visit too, saving a return trip and associated costs. To discuss this further, please get in touch.
Types of liner damage
It is, however, perfectly possible that a membrane can become damaged:
Liner tear and run
Bird beak strike
Ground heave tear
Human equipment damage
EPDM liner repair
Damage identified
Using Elevate (Firestone) EPDM repair systems, processes and materials, we can repair any EPDM liner, maintaining both its warranty and service life.
This is done on-site as a bought-in service with the minimum of disruption to you or the project the liner is serving.
If you have an EPDM liner with damage, we can repair it for you at a fraction of the relining cost. Something to consider when you buy a cheaper system first time round and then it potentially gets damaged?

Why EPDM?
There are a variety of materials available to the UK market for lining – plastic, LLDPE, HDPE, Bentonite, Butyl & EPDM. Plastic liners (plastic, LLDPE & HDPE) have a life of up to half (28 years) that of EPDM, whilst butyl will last 25 years +/- 5 years. Whilst EPDM is more expensive, it only needs installing once and should last well beyond 56 years of life. You ultimately save by not needing to re-engineer the site half-way through an EPDM liners’ life.
Elevate GeoGard EPDM membrane – has a workable life of up to 60 years. It is
- Fully UV stable
- Repairable should you damage it and
- will outlast the best HDPE liner by doubling its life.
A great investment where ownership of the project, for example farms, pass down through the generations.
With over 15 years in the industry, and seeing more the effects of cheaper membranes breaking down over time, which can cause micro plastics (POP’s) to enter water-courses. Turtle have chosen to only install EPDM rubber membranes. They are a natural product, entirely UV stable, have double the life span of plastic membranes and negate the risk of these pollution’s.
Why not see this life project which is now over 50 years old?
