Grand Designs 2023 Blackbird House nominee.
Back in 2021, Turtle Productions won the contract to line the large pond proposed for what was to become Blackbird House. From plans designed by FFLO, Turtle staff worked alongside the main contractor – KJS Construction, to get this pond lined within budget and diary. Technical liner welding work included the bespoke, four jetty legs which punched through the liner; thus having to be sealed.
We returned in 2023 to undertake some maintenance for the new client who now engages our Annual Pond Service programme. Our updated photos show just how well this pond fits into the scenery and why this property was short-listed for Channel 4’s House of the Year.
Roll forward to 2025, and this years’ House-of-the-Year sees Kevin based from this very pond, presenting the series. “We did that!”.
