This old HDPE irrigation lagoon served Charlton Athletic Football Clubs’ training ground in East London for only a few years before it failed. The banks had not been terminated correctly and land-slip caused the inflexible liner to buckle and fail. White Horse Contractors Ltd were contracted with sorting out this mess and they turned to their trusted sub-trades, B.D. Westby Groundworks Ltd and Turtle Productions Ltd to complete the works.
This was a really difficult project to achieve by way of access, sloppy spoil, access issues, a working site and weather – heat. The shape of the lagoon was changed to resolve the first-build issues, and our EPDM geomembrane should now contain water for up to 60-years. Once again, Westby’s performed their magic allowing the Turtle’s to get this lined within budget and on-time, in a heatwave!
