We feature this deck as it shows just what can be created in a cramped space! Properties in Bath aren’t renowned for large gardens, and three-story living can make lower gardens tricky to access. Add children from a young family plus the desire to make best use of outdoor space, and we renovated this tired concrete space into a softer, easier-access deck with storage and safer access to the house.
Two small storage cupboards were carefully designed into the steps area whilst the lower platform is pitched to still give access to the cellar but also to provide front-of-deck seating for small children as they come around to play. Evening seating and dining is provided by the main deck whilst subtle lighting negates the need for harsh lighting.
