We went to quote for the replacement of this aging softwood deck in Churchdown, Gloucestershire. Wow – what can we say? Not just rotting, but insufficient timber used to create this dilapidated mess! Having won the job, we set about stripping out everything which, as you can see, has hardly any support or framework to it.
We always use the correct rating of timber (6” x 2”) which should be set at 400mm centres whilst 1100mm regulation height baluster rails contain this bespoke trellis insert specifically chosen by our client. As this is a replacement deck, it doesn’t need planning permission. Our softwoods boards then clad the new structure.
