Our clients bought this house in 2018, ready to move in after internal renovation. Featuring a deck and pond, we spent a week on each, modernising as we went.
The original deck featured two-direction boards and a handrail system which didn’t meet regulation. It was all carefully un-picked and the structure investigated. as the structure was sound, it was nominally extended in three small areas for ergonomic flow, and then new industry-standard Scandinavian Redwood softwood boards were laid, smooth side up, at a 45-degree angle, providing a single pattern, smooth finish with clean lines.
The balusters were recycled into an industry-standard 1100mm high handrail and all the boards were then painted to test the new Cuprinol anti-slip paint. Perspex screening was added for wind protection to the soft-tub area whilst furniture and pots complete this outdoor space.

Covid 1 lockdown enabled this couple to reclaim the garden that had been lovingly created back in the 90’s. So much enjoyment was being gained from the outdoor living with the associated pond, that it was decided to extend the pond and deck.
The original grass area wasn’t working, so we’ve decked over, creating a new sun lounger and outdoor eating space, decorated with pots whilst cladding the house wall too. The space also compliments the pond we also created and then equally extended.
