We were referred by a neighbour whose deck we’d replaced a few years ago, to see if we could help here. A narrow, rotting, 2m wide deck bought little to the garden, and the fence was falling over. We expanded the deck to 3m wide and created a new flight of steps off to the side, giving valuable under-deck storage. Once the carcass was installed, it was treated against weather with “blackjack” paint. A new closeboard and trellis combo fence was installed down through the garden maintaining privacy but equally openness. Glass balustrades were fitted to the deck to give views down the garden – we later changed the top rail as the supplied one didn’t suit the project. The client finished off by painting our recommended anti-slip paint which gives it both a modern look but also helps elongate the life of timber.
