This was the largest project in the country of 2010. It was also our first foray into site liner welding.
We were tasked by K & A Groundworks Ltd to line a new-build cut-and-fill construction 100m x 80m x 6.5m deep, 34 million litre irrigation lagoon near Stonehenge.
This was a zero-waste project and a licence to extract 22.7 million litres over three months was granted with a further 8 million litres being harvested from a 1,000m2 milking barn roof.
Winter 2010 was one of our recent, coldest winters on record with our coldest temperature on site in the morning recorded at -6.5 Celsius. The Firestone EPDM GeoGard system still works at this temperature though snow beat us the penultimate day, requiring us to return after Christmas to finish off.
Our liner was supplied by Gordon Low Products, and Firestone took an active roll supporting Turtle on this installation with regular site visits and specialist training installation work on unusual aspects.
We re-visited in 2017 to find it settled in, matured and meeting the needs of its owner well.
