We entered the irrigation lagoon market in 2010, with (then) the largest project to be found in the UK. Sink or swim? Since then, we’ve gone from strength to strength. Working with EPDM only, we’ve tackled big, difficult and beautiful projects working on behalf of Elevate (Firestone), on recommendation from Gordon Low, in partnership with your team and an ever growing network of trusted groundwork companies around the country.

Materials
There are a variety of materials available to the UK market for lining – plastic, LLDPE, HDPE, Bentonite, Butyl & EPDM. Plastic liners (plastic, LLDPE & HDPE) have a life of up to half (28 years) that of EPDM, whilst butyl will last 25 years +/- 5 years. Whilst EPDM is more expensive, it only needs installing once and should last well beyond 56 years of life. You ultimately save by not needing to re-engineer the site half-way through an EPDM liners’ life.
With Elevate GeoGard EPDM membrane’s working life of up to 60 years, it is:
- Fully UV stable
- Repairable should you damage it and
- will outlast the best HDPE liner by doubling its life.
A great investment where ownership of the project, for example farms, pass down through the generations.
With over 15 years in the industry, and seeing more the effects of cheaper membranes breaking down over time, which can cause micro plastics (POP’s) to enter water-courses. Turtle have chosen to only install EPDM rubber membranes. They are a natural product, entirely UV stable, have double the life span of plastic membranes and negate the risk of these pollution’s.
Value
Cost efficiency is not only key, but critical too in these modern times of price rises and emphasis on planetary resources. EPDM membranes are the most expensive on the market now, so waste is simply not an option. Therefore every quote, every site visit, every installation is meticulously worked out at the design stage to use the absolute minimum quantity of membrane in a variety of stock widths to ensure there is as little, to no waste as possible.
We pride ourselves that in 14 years joining liner on site, we’ve never ordered a skip!
Micro-plastics are starting to loom in the lining industry, as plastic membranes (HDPE) have the ability to break down, releasing POP’s into our water courses. EPDM membranes are a natural product with the benefit of double-the-life. Further value to our clients in not having to repeat their HDPE project halfway through the life of an EPDM project.
Quotation, not estimate
We DO NOT quote on a square metre basis, with estimates that are subject to a site visit, inflation or bid-low to create a false impression to engage your work.
Your drawings are accurate, so you should expect your lining contractor to be able to interpret these and give you the most valued service possible. This is Turtle Productions approach. Our quote is a fixed price quotation, not an estimate, based on known dimensions which allow us to line your project correctly, on time, in budget, without wastage and can leave you reassured that the lagoon will withstand the future test of time.
